This is probably really obvious to most moms of small boys, but I just discovered it last week.
In cooler weather, our boys often wear button-down shirts. They also wear them when we go to religious services. However, little boys do not like to hold still to have their shirt buttoned. Once the shirts are washed and dried, I don't like having to fold them.
My solution has been to keep their shirts buttoned. I unbutton the top two buttons and treat the shirt as a pullover. It's much easier to keep a small boy still for one button (I generally do not do up the top button anyway) than for five, especially since there's no risk of getting the buttons crooked.
I also take the shirt off over the boys' heads. Since the shirt is mostly buttoned when I fold it, it's much easier for me to keep the shirt straight.

Such a great idea! If I ever have boys I will definitely keep that in mind!
That IS a really great idea! If I could ever get my 5 year old even CLOSE to a button-down shirt, I would try it. He has a STRONG aversion! Thanks for the tip!
I do this too. So much easier. (I sometimes do it for myself too!)
